Hard Day

"For we would not have you ignorant, brethern, concerning opur affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of (professional) life: yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of (professional) death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises from the dead." 2 Cor. 1: 8-9

Today was hard, maybe the single hardest day of this tour. I feel like I am dragging anchor. I am out of the swing circle.

I'm not sure I will make it out of this one so well. This is going to be a long few months.

  1. Not sure what's going on, but I will be praying for you. Just before I went to sea in January, my pastor gave me an awesome daily devotional titled "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young. I was having a particularly bad day out at sea when I read the Feb 11th entry, and it lifted my spirits. I'll share it with you here:

"My Peace is like a shaft of golden light shining on you continuously. During days of bright sunshine, it may blend in with your surroundings. On darker days, My Peace stands out in sharp contrast to your circumstances. See times of darkness as opportunities for My Light to shine in transcendent splendor. I am training you to practice Peace that overpowers darkness. Collaborate with Me in this training. Do not grow weary or lose heart."

    Hang in there, shipmate.

  3. How are you holding up, brother? I would send you a private email, but there's no email contact listed on your blog. (You can reach me at blunozblog at hotmail dot com).

  4. Not sure where you're at in the big ocean right now, or what ship you're on, but I'm praying for you right now. Happy Palm Sunday! God bless you! Would love to know how to get in touch with you. I've been following your blog for months now and have been inspired so often by your heart for a closeness with Christ in the midst of your SWO career. I thank God for you, even though I've never met you (at least I don't think I have). Hopefully our paths will cross at some point. Always thankful for meetings with brothers at sea.
